This client did give me permission to use this photo as she was so happy to have these long plugs of wax removed from her ears. When she arrived in the clinic she was suffering from hearing loss and great discomfort. Luckily, she had used olive oil drops which softened the wax and lubricated her ears. This meant I was able to comfortably and smoothly remove the wax in one go. If she had used an alternative over the counter oil containing hydrogen peroxide, the wax would have dissolved in her ears becoming sticky and very difficult to remove. Once the wax was removed her hearing immediately returned and she was astonished at what came out !
